The Welder is responsible for joining metal parts, filling seams and holes of metal components, following sketches and specifications, inspecting equipment and structures, and following and maintaining knowledge of safety protocol.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Use electricity and torches to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals.
Weld small components like copper plumbing and large ones like pipelines.
Consult blueprints and sketches in order to execute jobs and tasks to specification.
Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
Monitor equipment for appropriate usage and temperature
Maintain a thorough knowledge of universal standards and specifications in order to meet building codes and legal requirements.
Operate specialized machinery for industrial welding.
Trim metal components using heat, fire, and electricity.
Take apart and disposes of large metal objects.
Monitor the work environment for hazards and maintain healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
Comply with safety regulations and protocol, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Perform MIG, TIG and other types of welding, based on project needs.
Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
Must be able to pass welding integrity tests such as pressure tests and x-rays.
Operate necessary tools, equipment and diagnostic computers.
Maintain a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
Must be committed to working safely at all times.

High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience is required.
Preffered 3-5 years of welding experience.
Preferred an ASME Section 9 certification (lo/hi 70/18).
Requires basic structural experience.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
